“Thamma’s release date was locked a few days ago. It’ll release on October 21 and thus clash with the other Diwali release, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. The makers plan to mention the exact release date with the trailer, which will be launched on Friday," the source added.

The portal also mentioned that there might be a small possibility of further changes. But as of now, Thamma is scheduled for a release on October 21, 2025.

On September 24, the producers made it clear that the spelling of the film’s title has undergone a change, from Thama to Thamma. The trailer will be released by Thamma makers at the special event, which will be held at Bandra Fort on Friday, September 26. The poster also hinted at a collaboration between Shraddha Kapoor's Stree and Ayushmann's Thamma.

As per reports, the story revolves around a central character, Alok, played by Ayushmann Khurrana, who is a historian in modern Delhi who reminisces about the ancient city of Vijayanagara. In these flashbacks, the narrative explores the origins of a "bloody love story" and the romantic journeys of the central characters within this historical context.
