Thammudu is Telugu actor Nithin’s biggest flop in recent times and hit the screens on July 4, 2025. We at OTT Play had already revealed that the action drama would be out on OTT within a month of its theatrical release. As reported, Thammudu is now available for streaming on Netflix.

Initially, the makers had announced that the film would premiere on OTT on August 2, 2025, but it dropped a day early. You can now stream Thammudu in Hindi and all major South Indian languages on Netflix.

Directed by Sreeram Venu, Thammudu was produced by Dil Raju on a massive budget of just over ₹60 crore. Unfortunately, the film received negative word-of-mouth and bad reviews from the very first show itself and was out of theatres by the end of its opening weekend.

With this debacle, Nithin adds yet another major flop to his career and is currently lying low without a proper hit. As for producer Dil Raju, he reportedly lost big money on the film, having spent heavily on production despite knowing the market for such content has shrunk in recent years.

Also, Thammudu premiered on OTT in under a month, thanks to a massive deal offered by Netflix. Producer Dil Raju accepted the lucrative offer, leading to the film’s early streaming release for a record price. Thammudu also marked the comeback of yesteryear actress Laya into Telugu cinema after a gap of 16 years. She played Nithin’s sister in the film.

Thammudu was also notable for the Telugu debut of Kantara fame Saptami Gowda. Though her performance was praised, the film’s failure did not help her career in Telugu cinema.

Nithiin has now moved on to his new film Yellamma, being directed by Venu Yeldandi. Meanwhile, a section of the audience that skipped the theatrical release might now check Thammudu out on Netflix.
