The trailer of Thandakaaranyam, starring actors Dinesh and Kalaiyarasan in the lead roles was released by the makers social media on Sunday. The film will hit theatres this week, on September 19.

Thandakaaranyam is written and directed by Athirai Athiyan, who earlier made Irandam Ulaga Porin Kadaisi Gundu. The trailer of the film is now out for audience to watch. Before watching the film in theatres, you can stream the trailer on YouTube to get an idea about the film.

The trailer begins with the voice of Dinesh, who says that someone has to be sacrificed from a family to work there, presuming it to be military. Meanwhile, Kalaiyarasan plays the role of an army man. We see how the forest plays an important role in the film, and the people living there are pivotal. The Thandakaaranyam trailer shows the pain of people whose land is taken away from them, while the military plays an important role. Filled with rage, pain, and social commentary on those in power, the film is expected to come with a strong message.

Dinesh, last seen in the critically acclaimed film Lubber Pandhu and Kalaiyarasan who has starred in 2025 films like Trending and Madraskaaran, come together to play the leads in Thandakaaranyam.

When is Thandakaaranyam releasing?

Thandakaaranyam is all set to come to the big screens on September 19. There are two more Tamil films that are coming to theatres on the same day; Kavin-starrer romantic drama Kiss, and Vijay Antony’s Shakthi Thirumagan. Thandakaaranyam will also feature actors Riythvika, Vinsu Sam, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Muthukumar, Arul Dass, Saranya Ravichandran, and Bala Saravanan, among others.
