Zoya Akhtar is all set to bring Archie comics to Bollywood. Titled The Archies, the highly anticipated movie marks the debut of Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda. The star kids are set to play the main characters in the upcoming flick. While Nanda will be seen in the titular role as Archie Andrews, Suhana and Khushi will essay Veronica Lodge and Betty Cooper respectively.

The makers are yet to unveil the entire cast and their characters in the film. However, the fans a thrilled after the official announcement of Zoya's film. Netizens poured their wishes to the newcomers and the filmmakers on social media sites.

Nanda's character named Archie is the centre of the plot in the famous Archie comics. According to the book, he is extremely kind, caring and brave but very accident-prone as well. He tries to help people around him, however, many of his actions end up harming his near dears.

Veronica (Suhana) is noted as the spoiled and vain daughter of a multi-billionaire businessman, while Khushi's Betty is a kind-hearted, caring, talented and intelligent girl, who is in love with Archie.

Zoya took a special Instagram post to announce her upcoming film that has been doing rounds on the internet as a rumour for a few months. The IG post reads, "Back To The Future #thearchies #supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (sic)."

Backed by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti's production banner named Tiger Baby Films, The Archie will reportedly be set in the 1960s.

Meanwhile, Riverdale is one of the shows around the world which has been adapted from Archie's comics. The American teen drama series, which stars KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Cole Sprouse, is available to stream on Netflix.
