ZEE5's The Broken News marks the comeback of Sonali Bendre on the screen after almost a decade. The media drama which also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Shriya Pilgaonkar is the official adaptation of the British series Press. The popular web show by BBC Studios India is set to be back with its sequel.

During the event of the BBC Studios Showcase in London on 27 and 28 February 2023, the makers announced the sequel of The Broken News.

Director by Vinay Waikul and written by Sambit Mishra, the second season will continue to talk about the lives of journalists and the lies, love and struggle they face while battling between truth and sensationalism. It will also unfold how the world of journalism works and what actually happens behind the daily news.

Talking about the announcement of Broken News season 2, Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 India said in a recent statement the drama series displays the reality including the complications of the media world. He further added, "The first season of the show received enormous love from the audience. We hope to further fortify the creative ecosystem by presenting a gripping second chapter that sheds light on news narratives (sic)."

The Broken News season 1, which also has Indraneil Sengupta, Taaruk Raina, Aakash Khurana, Kiran Kumar, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Mugdha Godse, Faisal Rashid, Jay Upadhyay, Jaywant Wadkar, Sukhmani Sadana, Shreya Mehta, Mohan Kapur, Sharad Kapoor and Deepali Pansare as key characters, is available to stream on ZEE5 now.
