The Devil: During a recent interview, director Prakash Veer said that The Devil is a film that will entertain audiences in its entire duration. The film releases on December 11

In the absence of the leading man, Darshan Thoogudeepa, it is director-producer Prakash Veer who’s now got to handle a bulk of the promotional activities of his upcoming release, The Devil. Post-production work is still ongoing, a time that requires his complete attention, but circumstances are such that he has to handle both. Interestingly, Prakash has not been very forthcoming with plot related details of the film, which, he reckons, will be revealed in less than a week any way.

In fact, the trailer of The Devil that came out early on December 5 also barely skimmed the surface and just about hinted at it being an action-packed political thriller. As such Prakash was asked about the USP of the film, besides it being a Darshan-starrer, that will drive audiences to theatres. “The Devil is a film that Darshan and I made with a lot of love and effort. Our promise is that we have made a complete mass entertainer, which is only meant to entertain. There’s no attempt to bring in a social message of any kind,” says the filmmaker.
While on the topic, Prakash revealed the film’s runtime. “This is a journey, one in which you sit for 2 hours and 40 minutes to see a story unfold within a certain framework. There is a lot for audiences to enjoy in the film, be it the treatment or the variations in the narrative. I want people to come to theatres without any preconceived notions and watch it for what it is – an entertainer,” he adds.

The cast also includes Mahesh Manjrekar, Achyuth Kumar, Shobraj, Vinay Gowda, Huli Karthik, Gilli Nata, Chandu B Gowda, among others. The film will be in theatres on December 11, a day earlier than previously planned.
