Kolkata Police has summoned The Diary of West Bengal’s director Sanoj Mishra. However, the director of the film is scared that he will be murdered once he reaches Kolkata.

Complaint of destabilising the peace and harmony of Bengal was lodged against him. An FIR was filed at Amherst Street Police Station on May 11. Sanoj was ordered to appear by May 30.

Sanoj told India Today, “I am not a terrorist and did not do any unconstitutional work. The film is based on facts.”

The film’s trailer was released one month back on Youtube. Complaints of unrest, genocide, rape, and minority appeasement were raised in the trailer. The trailer incited controversy.

In their notice sent to Sanoj, Kolkata Police said that they want to confirm the truthfulness of what was seen in the film. Sanoj said he was being harassed. He said, “They summoned me. They can kill me.”

Sanoj labeled the case against him as a violation of the freedom of expression. He said he works for society, and he did not do anything wrong by making this film.
