We had earlier reported that actor Rashmika Mandanna will be headlining the upcoming Telugu film The Girlfriend. The makers on Saturday announced that the film will release in theatres on November 7.

Actor Rashmika Mandanna, who was last seen in Kuberaa, will be starring in the lead role in The Girlfriend. The Telugu film is written and directed by Rahul Ravindran.

On Saturday, the makers of The Girlfriend announced the release date with a teaser of sorts.

The Girlfriend features Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role along with Dheekshith Shetty. The teaser begins with the couple sitting at a restaurant, as Dheekshith gives an order to the waiter. Meanwhile, lost in thoughts, Rashmika wonders if everyone has a type of people and if they do, when and how they realise if they are right for each other, if she is the right one, as the boyfriend looks visibly confused. The teaser ends with Rashmika Mandanna telling the audience that they will find out on November 7, as it continues to show glimpses of the lead pair's relationship.

Speaking about working with Rashmika Dheekshith said "On the set, Rashmika was never a star; she was always an artiste and a very cooperative one at that. She helped me a lot during the making and we’d discuss scenes at length. The Girlfriend is also first of sorts female-driven story for Rashmika.

The Girlfriend will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. It is written and directed by Rahul Ravindran and has music by Hesham Abdul Wahab. The technical crew also includes cinematography by Krishnan Vasant and editing by Chota Naidu. Besides Rashmika Mandanna and Dheekshith Shetty, the film also stars Rao Ramesh, Rohini and others.

Meanwhile, we will be seeing Rashmika on the big screens before The Girlfriend, given her Hindi horror comedy Thamma is set to release on October 21 for Diwali. Part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, the film features Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role and is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar.
