The Great Indian Kapil Show season 4 aired the fifth episode with the beloved trio of cricket legends, Virender Sehwag, aka Viru, Mohammad Kaif, and Yuvraj Singh, aka Yuvi. The host introduced the trio as the OG friends whose bond over the years has only blossomed finely. Check out the highlights of the show…
During the interaction, Mohammad Kaif called his cricket team buddies Sehwag and Yuvraj so rich that if they brushed their shoulders, a couple of crores would fall off. Yuvraj then pointed at Kaif’s shoes and asked which brand. Kaif then slyly smiles and says ‘Gucci,’ which leaves everyone with a surprising reaction as they woo about the ironic reply.
When host Kapil Sharma asked if the former Indian cricketers ever faced a situation because of their weak English, the trio chipped in and nodded with funny faces. During a candid revelation, Yuvraj Singh revealed that none of them was better in English and had only learned "thank you" and "sorry." “It was the 2003 World Cup. I think New Zealand got all out for 142 or 170. Zak (Zaheer Khan) took four wickets and was named Man of the Match. Zak was asked by the commentator. You bowled very well. You were in good rhythm. How does it feel to bowl so well and take so many wickets? Zak goes like, ‘Uh, sorry?’” Everyone laughed at this incident.
He later revealed another fun incident when Virender Sehwag and he went to eat burgers at Burger King. “A guy came up and said, ‘Oh, Virender Sehwag?’ Viru says, ‘Yup.’ His short reply and the shortcomings of the foreign language left everyone in maniacal laughter.
Virender Sehwag revealed that Saurav Ganguly, lovingly called Dada, emerged as one of his biggest supporters, who advised him right and fueled his career. He also added that Ganguly was the team captain when he joined the team. “I played the 1999 and 2000 domestic seasons and scored heavily. When I made a comeback, Sourav Ganguly was the captain. He brought me back into the Indian team, backed me, and gave me 15-17 matches.”
Kapil Sharma revealed that Sehwag challenged his son Aaravir to break his score, and then he will gift him a Ferrari. What was his reaction when his son missed the achievement by just 23 runs? Sehwag then replied that he would have stayed firm on his promise if his son would have scored 319 runs. “If he had scored 319, I would have given him a Ferrari. A toy Ferrari counts too, right? I never said that it had to be a real one. Chota model bhi mehenga aata hai (Even those toy models are expensive),” Sehwag said.
Kapil also asked the squad to say who among them is the bully. He then shows a clip of Rohit Sharma, in which he said that Yuvi is a bully because he intimidated him for a seat during their sports trip. Yuvraj Singh later clarified the situation that he actually asked him politely to move from his seat. The trio added that each player has their own seat where they get comfortable over the years.
The trio of friends also played a fun game in which they had to guess the name of some players with their signature style or act. Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, and Mohammad Kaif acted well and entertained fans with their impressive style. Overall, the episode was packed with some nostalgia, friendship charm, and sports golden moments that are expected to remain with fans for a longer time.
Meanwhile, the sixth episode will drop on January 24 as Kapil Sharma gears up to welcome new guests on his popular chat show.
