Adah Sharma-starrer The Kerala Story is a box office success. The Sudipto Sen directed film had already surpassed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark and, in a remarkable achievement for a movie, made more money on its second Sunday than it did on the first – an anticipated Rs 23 crore.

The Kerala Story was released on May 5 in the midst of all the controversy surrounding it. Since then, the audience's reaction has been unresolved. The movie has an unstoppable box office run. Its box office performance hasn't been impacted by the numerous issues and bans it has faced.

The Kerala Story brought in Rs 23 crore on the tenth day, bringing its overall box office earnings to a remarkable Rs 136 crore. If the movie can keep up its momentum, it will soon overtake Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, as the year's second-biggest success. In India, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar made about Rs 177 crore.

According to reports, the controversial film reportedly got a 54.68 percent Hindi occupancy on Sunday. The film has made headlines for inflating statistics regarding the amount of female Muslims who converted who were allegedly radicalised by Islamists. While the creators had initially stated the quantity to be 32,000, the number was revised from 32,000 to three in response to numerous online and offline protests.

Despite the wave of protests, The Kerala Story is still doing well at the box office and has established itself as a genuine Bollywood smash following the success of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan's return movie, and the romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
