Peacock’s comedy The Paper premieres on Sep 4, 2025, with a star cast and creators of The Office. It streams in India from Sep 5 on JioHotstar, drawing comparisons to iconic workplace shows.

The Paper Peacock's new office comedy, will debut with its first four episodes on September 4, 2025, as the network has officially announced the date. Indian viewers would have to wait until September 5, 2025, to watch the series on JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium).

The producers of The Paper are Michael Koman of Nathan for You and Greg Daniels of The Office. The show is part of Universal Studio Group's Universal Television branch. Under his name, Deedle-Dee Productions, Daniels is producing the series.
On the opening day of the first season, four episodes will be released. From then until the season finale on September 26, 2025, there will be two new episodes released every Friday in India.
Domhnall Gleeson, best known for his roles in Ex Machina and the Harry Potter series, is part of the ensemble cast, which also includes Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), Sabrina Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and Oscar Nuñez, best known for his work on The Office.
Nate Jackson, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, Mo Welch, Allan Havey, Duane Shepard Sr. and Eric Rahill are among the guest stars.
Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant (co-creators of The Office UK), Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, Banijay Americas, and Daniels and Koman are among the executive producers.
Several well-known faces from the world of comedy television have shared the directing duties. These include Ken Kwapis (The Office Parks and Recreation), Yana Gorskaya, Paul Lieberstein, Tazbah Chavez, Jason Woliner, Jennifer Celotta, Matt Sohn, Dave Rogers, and Jeff Blitz, among others.
As a successor of The Office in The Paper, The Truth Teller is a historic but faltering Midwestern newspaper in Toledo, Ohio, that is attempting to revive itself with the help of volunteer reporters. The show's creative team and large cast, however, have already prompted parallels to The Office and Parks and Recreation, two shows that have maintained large fan bases and cultural significance and continue to attract viewers.
With its India premiere scheduled for JioHotstar, The Paper is currently one of the most talked-about comedy premieres of 2025 at Peacock and signifies yet another big crossover in the streaming industry.
