Malayalam film, The Pet Detective, is all set to hit the big screen soon, according to reports. It has been confirmed that the comedy drama, starring Sharaf U Dheen and Anupama Parameswaran in lead roles, will have a theatrical release in August.

The movie, which is directed by Praneesh Vijayan, was earlier slated to make a big screen debut in April but was postponed due to unknown reasons. It has now been reported that The Pet Detective will have a theatrical premiere in August. An exact date of release and a trailer is expected from the makers in the coming days.

Malayalam films that are scheduled for August release includes Narain-starrer Sahasam, Kathir's Malayalam debut Meesha and Arjun Ashokan's Sumathi Valavu. This year's Onam films such as Mohanlal-starrer Hridayapoorvam and Fahadh Faasil's Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira will also release by the end of the same month.

The Pet Detective's cast and crew

In this comedy, Vinay Forrt and Joemon Jyothir are also playing pivotal role in this comedy film. .Under the banner of Sharafudheen Productions, Sharaf U Dheen is the film's producer. The director and Jai Vishnu have penned the screenplay for this family entertainer.

Anend C Chandran has helmed The Pet Detective's cinematography. Abhinav Sunder Nayak, a well-known director who made his breakthrough with Mukundan Unni Associates that is streaming on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium, is the editor of this movie. On September 2 last year, the 83-day shoot schedule of The Pet Detective was concluded. The movie was announced and its first-look poster was unveiled in the beginning of last year. Rajesh Murugesan is the composer of the movie's soundtracks.

The protagonist of the tale is an oddball investigator who focusses on pet-related cases. While Sharaf U Dheen was recently seen in Samshayam and Padakkalam Anupama Parameswaran played an important part in Suresh Gopi's latest film, Janaki V v/s State of Kerala.
