The Society is a lot similar to the concept of Squid Game but only in terms of visuals. The actual game is similar to Bigg Boss and Lock Upp. The teams are divided as Royals, Regulars, and Rags. They are treated just as their group name suggests. Right from dodging eggs thrown at them to sacrificing hair, the reality TV show promises a lot.

No, The Society is not the Indian version of Korean drama Squid Game, even if it takes heavy inspiration from the same. Squid Game ended with season 3 recently, and while The Society shares the vibe of the show with themes like the clothing and bunk bed setup with the money in the vault concept, it does not have ‘deadly’ games that Squid Game is known for. Thus, while there are resemblances to Squid Game, The Society is indeed not the Indian version of Squid Game.
The Society promises 200 hours with 25 players. They are fighting for what is behind a giant vault. Like with every reality show ever, there is just one winner with this game show.
The Society will be out on JioHotstar from July 21. Hosted by Munawar Faruqui, the game show will be available on JioHotstar Sparks via OTTplay Premium.
