A still from Thiruchitrambalam

Since the chartbuster Megham Karukaadha by Dhanush and Anirudh Ravichander from Thiruchitrambalam was released, netizens and fans have been grooving to the song on Instagram.

Taking advantage of the latest trend, a couple from Japan posted a video of themselves dancing to the song like the stars on the big screen.

Both lead actors, Dhanush and Nithya Menen shared the video and expressed their delight at the song's and film's success.

The video, which was shared on Instagram, has received 487K likes.

The Dhanush-starrer is quickly becoming the most profitable Tamil film of the year, on the lines of Kamal Haasan's Vikram. Thiruchitrambalam was released on August 18 and was made on a Rs 30 crore budget.

Thiruchitrambalam had earned over Rs 94.25 crore worldwide as of September 5. Notably, this would be Dhanush's highest-grossing film worldwide after Aanand L Rai's Raanjhanaa

Despite facing stiff competition from Vikram's Cobra the Dhanush-starrer earned Rs 5 crore over the weekend. The film received mostly positive reviews, with many praising the straightforward narration and feel-good factor. Critics and audiences have praised Dhanush and Nithya's performances.

Thiruchitrambalam is directed by Mithran R Jawahar. And this is Dhanush's first theatrical release since Karnan, which came out in 2021. The actor's most recent appearance was on The Gray Man which marked his Hollywood debut.

Dhanush plays Jr. Pazham, a delivery driver who lives with his strict father. A romantic family drama with a dash of humour appears to be winning over the audience's hearts. The soundtrack to the film has received universal acclaim. The film features five songs, four of which are sung by Dhanush.

On the work front, Dhanush has Naane Varuven with director Selvaraghavan and Vaathi with director Venky Atluri slated for release. He is expected to start shooting for director Arun Matheshwaran's Captain Miller soon.

The review of Thiruchitrambalam on OTTplay read, "Mithran Jawahar's cinematic world mirrors the little joys and struggles that are the stuff of everyday life in the middle-class lane. His characters are real, and not overambitious. They are ordinary like Pazham. Most of the film feels real, like we are watching people from right behind them. Every spoken line is casual yet loaded with meaning."
