Ravi Teja is an Akshay Kumar equivalent in Telugu cinema, purely going by the pace at which he signs and finishes films. While he had three releases in 2022 - Khiladi, Ramarao On Duty, Dhamaka - he’s set to repeat the feat this year as well. While his Waltair Veerayya opened big for Sankranthi, Ravanasura is due for a release on April 7. Another film of the star will join his release list for 2023.

The Dhamaka star’s first pan-Indian film, Tiger Nageswara Rao, will hit theatres on October 20, coinciding with the Dussehra festival. The film is a fictionalised biopic of a notorious thief from Andhra Pradesh’s village Stuartpuram. Nupur Sanon (sister to actress Kriti Sanon) and Gayatri Bhardwaj play the female leads in the film that also stars Anupam Kher, Renu Desai in key roles too.

Abhishek Agarwal of Abhishek Agarwal Arts, the brain behind blockbusters like The Kashmir Files and Kartikeya 2, is bankrolling the film on a massive scale. The film, which promises a larger-than-life experience on the big screen, is being made on a huge canvas. A special set, recreating the Stuartpuram village, was erected in an area of over five acres.

The makers believe that the Dussehra festival will be a right time to draw crowds from all parts of the country, making the most of the holiday season. Ravi Teja is seen atop a train in the new poster. R Madhie (ISC) cranks the camera for the film with GV Prakash Kumar scoring the music. Avinash Kolla is the production designer and Srikanth Vissa is the dialogue writer respectively. Mayank Singhaniya is the co-producer.

Vamsee, the director of Tiger Nageswara Rao, is known for helming films like Dongata, Kittu Unnadu Jagratha in the past. He also helmed a web series titled Mrs Subbalakshmi, headlined by Lakshmi Manchu. Chiranjeevi was one of the first actors to be approached for Tiger Nageswara Rao. Despite liking the script, the star reportedly couldn’t yes to it owing to a few practical reasons.
