The creators of Urmila Matondkar's highly anticipated OTT comeback series Tiwari have refuted rumours suggesting a permanent cancellation or postponement of the project. The revenge thriller is set to premiere early next year and is now in post-production.

The announcement of the series came in 2022, marking Matondkar's comeback to the acting world. She portrays Kalki, a woman who serves a prison sentence for an unfounded offence before being freed from prison. Utpal Acharya, the series producer, has spoken out against the reports that the production had stalled. According to the producer, the team is almost ready to announce its streaming partner. He is not yet able to disclose the name of the OTT platform, but they are nearing completion. He explained that once everything is ready on their end, the platform will make an announcement soon. The producer explained that the longer post-production timeline was initially due to a project delay.

The seven-part series were originally going to be 50 minutes apiece. However, the streaming platform changed this structure. Acharya stated in confirming the alteration that at first, they had retained seven episodes of 50 minutes each, but the platform has converted them into 14 episodes of 25 minutes each. The abrupt cuts were necessary for this revenge-thriller play, which led to the post's delay.

The producer also spoke highly of the lead actor's commitment to the shoot. He said that regarding the release, Matondkar is ecstatic, and he mentioned that she used to get herself dolled up with hair and makeup (HMU) by 5:30 in the morning if her call time was at 6 in the morning, showcasing her professionalism.

Additionally, after a 27-year hiatus, Matondkar and her Satya co-star, JD Chakravarthy, will be reuniting in Tiwari. Rajesh Sharma and Gauahar Khan are also part of the ensemble cast of the series.
