Telugu cinema is known for its mass commercial movies and most of the biggies featuring star heroes release during important festival times. One such season for releasing Telugu films is the lucrative Sankranthi season which falls in the month of January every year. This time too, things are getting heated up as star heroes, Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy and megastar Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya will be out on the 12th and 13th of this month respectively.

Incidentally, Mythri Movie Makers is the production house behind these two films and they have spent crores of money on these biggies. The promotions are happening at a brisk pace and here is a piece of news that will disappoint the fans a bit. As per the update from our sources, the makers have approached both the state governments of Andhra and Telangana for a probable hike in ticket rates for both these films.

The makers want to sell the single-screen tickets at 175 rupees and for the multiplex, they want to charge close to 300 for the initial first week of the release in Telugu states. When Telugu cinema was going through the Covid pandemic, the governments gave special permission to hike the rates. But the system was removed quickly as the footfalls at the theaters were going down even for biggies.

But as it is festival time and not much Corona scare next week, the makers have decided to hike the ticket rates for a week. The ball is in the court of the two governments and one needs to wait and see what decision they will take in the days to come. For now, the buzz for these movies is top-notch. Waltair Veerayya is directed by Bobby and Gopichand Malineni has directed Veera Simha Reddy. Shruthi Haasan plays the female lead in both films.
