Angammal is an adaptation of Perumal Murugan’s short story Kodithuni. Starring Geetha Kailasam in the titular role, the film is about a middle-aged woman who is coerced by his younger son and rest of family members to wear a saree blouse. This is so as to look presentable in front of the boy’s much well to do lover’s family. Exploring the ideas of identity, and freedom of expression, Angammal is a rare story that talks about the life of a middle-aged woman. The film also features Saran, Bharani and others and is directed by Vipin Radhakrishnan.

Bad Girl starring Anjali Sivaraman in the lead role, is a film directed by debutant Varsha Bharath. A kabaddi-based sports drama, Bison features Dhruv Vikram as an aspiring youngster who wants to represent his country in the field of kabaddi. However, when he loses his job, the man has not only take up the expenses of his family but also struggle to keep up with society’s expectations of an earning man. Saanve Meghana, R Sundarrajan, Guru Somasundaram, and Nivedita Rajappan form the cast of Kudumbasthan. The film offers a realistic and humorous perspective of middle-class life in India, adding the local touch of Coimbatore. With clean comedy and good performances, Kudumbasthan is a well-packaged family drama.

Naangal is Tamil drama film about a father and his three sons, who live at their sprawling yet lonely mansion on the footsteps of a hill station. Written, directed, shot, and edited by Avinash Prakash, Naangal explores the nuances of the dysfunctional family, in a cathartic, poignant and deeply resonating in an intimate way. Sirai shows the unknown side of the police procedural and highlights how members from the minority community are treated in the eyes of law.

Tourist Family is another family drama starring Sasikumar and Simran in the lead roles.
