Toxic is Yash’s 19th film only, which he’d announced a year and a half after the release of KGF: Chapter 2. In the run-up to the official confirmation of his collaboration with Geethu, there was speculation galore about who the Kannada superstar would choose to work with. The title announcement came with a release date too, April 10, 2025, which, of course, they were not able to meet, which, as many in Yash’s inner circle have said was down to the scale of the film in terms of production quality and the cast on board.
The film stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, Akshay Oberoi, Sudev Nair, Kyle Paul, among others, and features music by Ravi Basrur. Yash made very few public appearances in the time since the film was announced and he’d initially always maintained that his next would be a smaller film, but that it would be good. However, over the course of the making, things changed. There were rumours that Yash was ghost-directing the film, which sources had denied, but then what was confirmed was that the actor had worked on Geethu’s script and now has writing credits too, besides being co-producer.
