The update that fans of Rocking Star Yash have been desperately waiting for is finally here. In the wee hours of February 19, social media was abuzz that the Toxic ‘hunt’ is set to begin shortly and the confirmation has come now. The teaser of the Geethu Mohandas directorial will drop online on February 20, 2026 at 9.35 am, the announcement of which also reiterated the theatrical release date – March 19, 2026. There is no question of budging from the Eid holiday weekend for team Toxic.

Amid all the buzz about the teaser and a trailer in the first week of March, what was also being shared widely this week was a leaked synopsis of the film’s plot, presumably from a censor submission for the Middle East. Accordingly, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups is set between the 40s and 70s in Goa, where amid rising crime syndicates, one man forges his empire through blood, fear and betrayal. The synopsis also promises that the film will be a savage action-thriller.

What was interesting about the post that went viral was the suggest rating for the film – that it was meant for 18+ adult audiences only - making it Rocking Star Yash’s first in that category. While the box office clash with Dhurandhar 2 is a concern, the latest is that the Ranveer Singh starrer may not meet the deadline. Filming of the Aditya Dhar directorial is still ongoing, according to reports.

The Hindi belt is crucial for the success of Toxic, given that Yash’s monster hit KGF: 2’s major chunk of collections came from that market. The Kannada original contributed under Rs 200 cr only, despite the advantage of being a sequel.
