Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups, starring Rocking Star Yash in the lead, is set for release on March 19, 2026. The film’s trailer is expected to drop in the first week of March

Social media is abuzz with a supposedly leaked synopsis of the plot of Rocking Star Yash’s upcoming Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups. The post, which is being circulated widely reads, “Set in Goa between the early 1940s and the 1970s, Toxic is a savage action-thriller saga that plunges into the rot festering beneath paradise. In this coastal land of fading colonial shadows and rising crime syndicates, a man forges his empire through blood, fear, and betrayal.”

“Power is not granted - it is seized and it always demands repayment. As smuggling routes become battlegrounds and loyalties unravel into suspicion, paranoia turns into a means of survival. In the end, the only force more powerful than the consequences of his choices is the abyss within him,” states this synopsis. The question, though, is, what’s new about this? It’s been clear from the get to that Yash’s collaboration with Geethu Mohandas is for a gangster film, and it was revealed early on that it would be set in an earlier time period. The 50s and 60s is what was widely heard.
The title teaser’s tagline about the film set to ‘Intoxicate’ had suggested that the film would revolve around drug cartels and in that period, Goa was the haven for all related activity. In that sense, this plot synopsis really does not offer anything new. We’ve known it all along. What is, however, interesting is the film’s rating, which reads 18 TBC. The synopsis has likely been leaked from the film’s UAE certification process, where it will be strictly for adults only. This is only a provisional certification, but gives an indication as to what to expect back home in India too.

There have been whispers that Yash’s film will be his first A-rated one, based on the content of the two teasers that have come out so far, but if the plot synopsis is anything to go by, it is about the violence that will be unleashed onscreen. The film, meanwhile, is headed to an epic box office clash with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2, with both teams unwilling to back down from this encounter. Yash was the first to book the Eid holiday for his film.
