Ranbir Kapoor's Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar hit the Rs 100 crore milestone at the Indian box office. The Shraddha Kapoor and Luv Ranjan-directed film had a successful weekend opening, grossing almost Rs 6 crore. The amount is almost a 100% increase from its Friday take. The movie's weekend revenue as tracked by industry tracker Sacnilk is Rs 102.21 cr. It is anticipated to perform similarly on Sunday as well, before the daily slump sets in.

Bollywood was relieved by Pathaan's huge numbers prior to Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Selfiee by Akshay Kumar and Shehzada by Kartik Aaryan both miserably underperformed at the film office this year.

TJMM's Holi release was met with both positive and mixed reviews from critics and viewers. But, since there hasn't been a Hindi rom-com released for a while, audiences are loving the movie in theatres. The songs have already topped the charts and have significantly contributed to drawing crowds to theatres.

The four new movies Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, Zwigato, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods, and Kabzaa that were released this week will now be competing with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.

Rani Mukerji's Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, meanwhile, opened at Rs. 1.27 crore and earned Rs. 2.50 crore on day 2. Its current total is Rs 3.77 cr. The movie has thus far received lacklustre reviews despite being based on the true story of an Indian couple whose children were kidnapped by Norwegian authorities in 2011.
