Team India has begun their T20I series against Australia at home and the shortest format of the game saw the return of many players namely Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel - who were injured.

While all expected the Indian pacer Bumrah to be part of the playing XI, fans were shocked to hear that the player who has returned back to the team did not make it to the playing squad.

Rohit Sharma at the toss said that the team would be going ahead with pacers, Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and, Umesh Yadav.

The Indian captain had, however, hinted that Bumrah could be playing in the second and third T20Is. "Bumrah is not playing, he will take a game’s break and probably come back in the second and the third game," said Rohit at the toss.

However, seeing the speedster not taking the field got netizens questioning why he was rested just on his return.

Bumrah had suffered a back injury last month due to which he was ruled out of Asia Cup 2022 in the UAE. As for Harshal Patel, he too had suffered a rib injury in the Caribbean and was not part of the squad.

The duo were at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and went through a successful rehabilitation and made it back to the team.
