Urmila Matondkar is all geared up to judge the dance reality show DID Super Moms Season 3. Along with her Bhagyashree and Remo D’souza also will sit on the judges' chairs. In an interview, the actress talked about her new role and her journey in Bollywood. The programme features Indian moms showcasing their dancing skills.

In a recent interview with Anandabazar Patrika, Urmila said that she believes that Indian women are the ‘greatest multitaskers’ in the world. Stating that the women contestants on the show are one of the reasons for her to say yes to the offer. “Since childhood, Indian women struggle to become a good daughter, sister, wife and sister-in-law. Their wishes become secondary in society. This show is setting the stage for these women to pursue their passion. I will always take part in anything that helps women and children,” said the actor.

Urmila also stated that it is because of her dancing skills, people still recognise her as a dancing star. “I had no conventional dance training and yet people still know me as a ‘dancing star’. Dance comes naturally to me. It makes me happy,” she said.

Many of her contemporary actors and actresses have debuted on OTT platforms. Talking about her new journey on OTT, she said that she was waiting for the right role. “After working in Rangeela, I could have done 10 more such films following the similar character outline. But I chose to do Judaai, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Kaun and so on. It is because I wanted to take up challenging roles. You will see me on ITT soon and I can assure you that it will be a very interesting role,” she said.

While giving credit to Ramgopal Verma for offering her a variety of roles, she also mentioned that some of her very interesting works happened with other directors too. “I always wanted to become a versatile actress and I used to seek out such characters. I was not the first choice in Satya. Many actresses chose to pick only glamorous roles. I have worked in films like Pinjar. It is not because of one director but my conviction has made me a versatile artiste,” she said.
