Vaathi Second Single: GV Prakash drops a red hot update on Dhanush's film

The composer revealed that he is recording the second single and that it will soon be out

There's a red hot update for Dhanush fans. The second single from Vaathi is being recorded and is all set to be out soon. The film's music composer GV Prakash Kumar announced the same on social media today. He wrote, "#vaathi #sir second single recording on progress … @dhanushkraja @SitharaEnts #venkyatluri … second single soon (sic)."

It was not long ago that the first single from the film, Vaa Vaathi was released. The romantic number, which has lyrics by Dhanush, is sung by Shweta Mohan. Vaathi is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual (Sir in Telugu) and is directed by Venky Atluri and marks Dhanush's first collaboration with the director. Cinematography is by J Yuvaraj and editing is by Naveen Nooli.

Dhanush will be playing a school teacher called Balamurugan, who takes on the corrupt practices in the educational system and tries to change the system making education accessible to all. The plot is set in the 1980s.

Samyuktha Menon plays the leading lady in the film marking her maiden venture with the actor. The rest of the star cast includes Sai Kumar, Samuthirakani, Aadukalam Naren, Ilavarasu, Mottai Rajendran, Hareesh Peradi and Praveena to name a few. The film is scheduled to hit screens in February 2023, after the release got pushed from December 2.

In the meantime, Dhanush is currently busy shooting for his next Captain Miller, which is helmed by director Arun Matheswaran. The film stars Sundeep Kishan, Priyanka Mohan, John Kokken and Elango Kumaravel to name a few. Captain Miller is said to be a racy action drama. The buzz is that Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar is likely to join the sets of the film. If he indeed comes on board, this will be his second project in Tamil after his debut with Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer, which is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
