Exactly one year after its theatrical debut, the makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros, have released an update on the sequel today (August 15). When Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys was released in theatres last year, it caused excitement among a lot of people. The movie is available to stream on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium.

The video, which isn't the official teaser, starts with the success scenes from Vaazha's theatrical run last year before gradually introducing the audience to Hashir and his crew, the movie's heroes. It's unknown, though, if the prequel's characters will make a cameo or return to this. In the upcoming days, more information, including a release date, is anticipated.

Vaazha 2 announced following prequel's success

Social media influencers played key parts in the Malayalam movie, which was produced by Vipin Das, the director of Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey. The sequel was reveal ed by the film's creators after it resonated well among viewers. The official launch of Vaazha 2 took place in Kochi on April 8, 2025. Anand Menon directed Vaazha, but Savin S A will direct the follow-up. The scriptwriter for the sequel will once again be Vipin Das. Social media users are sharing pictures from the launch event. More significantly, though, sources indicate that Vaazha 2's cast would include Premam director Alphonse Puthren.

In an interview with OTTplay, Anand Menon had disclosed that there will be a sequel to the movie. The film will include a second portion with newcomers. However, as Vaazha's ending implies, Hashir and his friends will also play significant roles in the sequel," he continued. People's expectations are definitely raised by this news, especially considering the success of the film presently showing in theatres and the rising popularity of social media influencer Hashir, who has been in the news for a while.
