Varanasi title gets changed

SS Rajamouli is a man who creates wonders on screen, and he is now busy with his new film Varanasi, which was launched in a very grand manner a few weeks ago in Hyderabad. But post the event, Rajamouli landed in a controversy as a small-time producer named Subba Reddy filed a complaint in the Telugu Film Chamber stating that the Varanasi title is his and that he had registered it two years ago.

SS Rajamouli renames the title of his next biggie

As the producer owns the title, there was news that Rajamouli and his team would speak to him and buy the title from him. Well, we at OTTplay have come to know that nothing of the sort has happened, and the makers have decided to rename the film.

One of the sources close to the team revealed to us that the makers have decided to name the film Rajamouli’s Varanasi. As the title has already been announced, the makers did not want to confuse the audience and hence altered the title a bit. The news is also that the title change will only happen in Telugu and not for other languages.

Mahesh Babu plays Lord Ram in this adventure thriller, and a chunk of the shoot has already been wrapped up. MM Keeravani composed the music for this film, which is being made on a budget of Rs 1000 crore, as per reports.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays the female lead, and Varanasi marks her comeback to Indian cinema after a very long gap. The climax of the film was just wrapped up in Ramoji Film City, where key scenes with Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mahesh Babu were canned on a massive scale.

Multiple cases filed against SS Rajamouli

Rajamouli has also landed in yet another controversy, as several cases have been filed against him for his comments against Lord Hanuman, which he made at the launch of Varanasi.

Amidst all this, the title controversy had also erupted, and now the makers have decided to alter the title, and very soon, an official confirmation will be made to the press.
