Late last year is when rumour mills went into overdrive about actors Vasishta N Simha and Hariprriya. A video that Hariprriya had shared of her getting her nose pierced had raised speculation that Vasishta had accompanied her during the traditionally-done ceremony. Soon enough came news of their engagement and a formal confirmation that they are indeed a couple. It was widely reported that the duo had met and fallen in love on the set of their film Yada Yadahi, but turns out, they were seeing each other much before that.

In their first media interaction together since their engagement, last evening, Hariprriya and Vasishta addressed the rumours surrounding their relationship. The actors said that they had a mutual admiration for each other’s work and Hariprriya, who very rarely attends film events other than her own, had gone to a premiere of Vasishta’s movie, which set the ball rolling. Over the years, the duo kept in touch and became each other’s pillar of support, taking them from being friends to lovers.

The duo will get married on January 26 at the Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama in Mysuru in the presence of family and close friends. Although they extended invitations to members of the press as well, the request was to join the couple as friends and not media, and to keep the cameras aside. The idea, they said, was to make the wedding an intimate affair. Subsequently, they will return to Bengaluru, where they will have a reception for friends from the industry on January 28 at the Golden Palms resort.

To a question about whether she will continue to act post-marriage, Hariprriya said that while she is looking at taking a break for a while, given that she has been in the industry for 15-16 years, films will still be her mainstay, which, Vasishta said he is more than supportive of.
