Basanti Chatterjee, 86, is a popular face on television who mainly plays grandmothers in the serials. She has been playing Agnijit Mukherjee’s mother in the popular Star Jalsha mega Geeta LLB, which streams on Disney+ Hotstar.

But Basanti Chatterjee fell ill and has been away from the shooting owing to her health condition for several days. She has been admitted to a private hospital in Dum Dum for more than two weeks. The treatment is done with the money given by her colleagues. Bhaswar Chatterjee, who plays Basanti’s son, told Ei Samay Digital ‘Now her condition has much improved. Tollywood actress Rituparna Sengupta helped Basanti Chatterjee. Bhaswar Chatterjee said ‘Ritudi helped a lot. At her behest, Cinetel gave her Rs 25,000.
