Viduthalai Part 2, which hit theaters on December 20, stars Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, and Manju Warrier. Despite a strong opening weekend, the film has seen a drop in collections.

Viduthalai- Part 2, the recently released Vetrimaaran film which stars Soori and Vijay Sethupathi among others, has collected Rs 34.26 crore in its nine days of run so far in theatres. The film hit big screens on December 20. With the film witnessing two weekends, Viduthalai: Part 2 was released in Tamil and Telugu.
Vetrimaaran helmed Viduthalai Part 2, a follow-up to his 2023 period action drama. The recently released sequel stars Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, Manju Warrier, and others.
Debuted in theatres on December 20, the film has collected Rs 34.26 crore so far in India. The film has shown a significant drop in its weekend collections. During its first weekend (Dec 21-22), the film's earnings on the two days alone were around Rs 15 crore, while it is still not evident if Viduthalai: Part 2 will follow up with the same collection if not higher.
Viduthalai: Part 2 is helmed by Vetrimaaran. It stars Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, Manju Warrier, Kishore, Rajiv Menon, Ken Karunas, Chetan, and others. Viduthalai: Part 2 starts off from where the first part is left. After capturing the leader of the people’s movement, Vaathiyar played by Vijay Sethupathi, he begins to narrate his tale to the cops, one of whom is an empathetic constable Kumaresan, played by Soori.
Much like the first part, Viduthalai: Part 2’s OTT rights have been bagged by ZEE5. The Vetrimaaran film will be available for streaming on ZEE5 from January 17, 2025, along with on the OTTplay Premium app.
The period action drama opened to mixed to positive reviews upon its release. Very much like Vetrimaaran’s previous films, Viduthalai: Part 2 also carried politically charged ideas, which became one of the talking points after the film’s release. The film has music by Ilaiyaraaja. Anurag Kashyap, Gautham Menon, Ilavarasu, and others are also part of the film.
