Kingdom: Anirudh's BGM delay puts release of Vijay Deverakonda's next in doubt

It has been some time since Vijay Deverakonda scored a big hit at the box office. His last film, Family Star, was a massive flop and was trolled big time by fans and the audience. So, Vijay Deverakonda took some time off and joined hands with Jersey director Gowtam Tinnanuri for an action drama titled Kingdom. The film has been in the making for over a year and is all set to hit the screens on May 30, 2025.

Is Kingdom getting postponed?
But as per the latest buzz, Kingdom is likely to be postponed. There are multiple reasons for this, but the biggest issue with the film is the music. Anirudh is composing music for Kingdom, and he is yet to wrap up the background score. There is a chunk of work that he needs to finish, and as he is busy with multiple projects, he is not finding time for Vijay's film.
One of the sources close to the team has revealed to us that the makers are a bit worried, as they have planned extensive India-wide promotions for Kingdom, and if they miss the date, then they have to look at August 2025, as May and June are filled with other Telugu biggies.
As Kingdom is a Pan-India project, the makers will find it quite difficult to select a new date, as they have to keep in mind several other factors with Bollywood films as well. The Vivegam composer is known to make music at his own speed and does not comply with pressure.
Anirudh composes BGM for Kingdom
In many of his interviews, producer Naga Vamsi of DJ Tillu fame revealed that Anirudh is one composer who does not work under pressure and wraps up work on his terms. Also, a small schedule of the film needs to be shot in Hyderabad.
On the other hand, the Pelli Choopulu star, Vijay Deverakonda, is busy completing his dubbing work for the film, and the other post-production formalities have also been going at a brisk pace. But knowing producer Naga Vamsi, who is in great form with back-to-back hits, he will make sure that Kingdom gets released on time. For now, Anirudh is creating a bit of tension for the makers.
