The Sabarmati Report (2024) is a Hindi political thriller drama directed by Dheeraj Sarna, inspired by the February 27, 2002, burning of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra, Gujarat. Starring Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra, the film follows journalists uncovering the incident’s hidden conspiracy, suggesting it was orchestrated rather than accidental.
The film centres on the contrast between "vernacular" (Hindi) journalism and "English-speaking" elite media, aiming to portray the "hidden truth" behind the incident from the perspective of a photojournalist, Samar Kumar (Vikrant Massey).
