It’s a harsh truth that the influence of classical music has been on the wane in Telugu cinema for over a decade now with rare exceptions. Thankfully, team Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha too thinks similarly and is making an attempt to set the record straight. The first single from the Kiran Abbavaram starrer, Vaasava Suhaasa, is a devotional song with the orchestration of a fusion number.

Vaasava Suhaasa was launched amidst the presence of filmmaker K Viswanath today. Sung by Karunya, the lyrics are penned by Kalyan Chakravarthy. Prior to the number, the lyrical video features an interesting conversation between a child and his grandfather on the field. In the discussion, the elderly man explains the idea of neighbour to the kid.

The height from which you view the world will change your perspective about the people around you, Subhalekha Sudhakar shares his worldly wisdom. The entire pallavi and the next stanza of the number are written in Sanskrit, elaborating on the deeper essence of Lord Vishnu’s avatar. With a singer like Karunya, the devotional quality comes through even more effectively.

The opening lines ‘Vaasava Suhaasa Gamanasudha..Dwarapathi Kiranarbhativasudha..Ashoka Vihitham..Kripananrtuthaam Komalaam..Manognitham Mamekavakam..’ are interspersed with visuals where Kiran Abbavaram enters a temple in a dhoti and hands over a dog to a young dancer. Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha is a story that unfolds in Tirupathi.

In a nutshell, beyond the mythological parallels, the song introduces Vishnu as a protagonist with ideal qualities who’s always there to help people in need and spread joy wherever he’s around. Chaitan Bharadwaj is scoring the music for the film directed by Murali Kishore Abburu. Kashmira plays the female lead in the film set to hit theatres on February 17, 2023.
