Sai Dharam Tej, who has been lying low with an injury, is ready with a horror thriller titled Virupaksha. The film is all set to release on the 21st of April and has been directed by Karthik Dandu, an assistant of Sukumar. Samyuktha Menon is the heroine. After releasing an impressive teaser, the makers unveiled a hard-hitting trailer today at a grand event in Hyderabad.

The trailer starts with the main lead, Sai Dharam going to his ancestral village. He falls in love with Samyuktha Menon and things look bubbly only until the village starts witnessing weird problems. The priest in the village, played by Sai Chand, orders the village to be shut down. All this is showcased in a very interesting manner. The promo right away creates a curiosity factor to know what is going on in the village.

What also catches your imagination is the stunning production design by Sri Nagendra Tangala. The way he has created an intense atmosphere and the props used make the village look haunted is superb. The background score by B. Ajaneesh Loknath is riveting and elevates the suspense a bit more. Sai Dharam Tej sports a new hairdo and he looks good. This is the first time he is doing a thriller and his screen presence is decent.

Noted character actors, Ajay and Sunil are seen in key roles in this film. Director Karthik Dandu has worked hard on his visuals which are nicely supported by cameraman Shamdat Sainudeen as the color tune he used gives the film a new look. The trailer gives an idea that Virupaksha will have a number of thrills executed at proper intervals.

Virupaksha has a story and screenplay by star filmmaker Sukumar and all the scenes showcased in the trailer look different and novel for a mystic thriller. With the trailer, the makers have lived up to all the hype created and if half of the thrills that are showcased in the trailer end up working out in the film, Virupaksha will be one good film to watch out for.
