Vishwambhara is one of the most-awaited films in Telugu cinema as it features Chiranjeevi as the main lead. The fantasy drama has been in the making for the last two years, but has yet to lock its release date. A small teaser, which was released on Chiranjeevi’s birthday two years ago, was trolled big time for its tacky VFX.

Upset with this, Chiranjeevi asked the makers to rework the entire graphics and give a new look to the film. Well, on Chiranjeevi‘s recent birthday, which was celebrated on August 22, 2025, the makers finally gave an update stating that Vishwambhara’s post-production is coming to an end, and the film will hit the screens in summer 2025.

Going back in time, we had already reported that one of the major reasons for the film not getting a release date is the lack of an OTT deal. As the makers were expecting big money from the OTT rights, several big players like Netflix and Amazon did not show any interest and backed out of the deal.

Well, one of the sources close to the unit has revealed to us that none other than JioHotstar has bagged the digital rights to the film for a fancy price. Though the makers did not get what they demanded, the source goes on to add that they have bagged a decent deal.

Trisha Krishnan makes a comeback to Telugu cinema with Vishwambhara

So things are slowly but steadily picking up with Vishwambhara, which has been directed by Vassishta. The film has Trisha Krishnan as the female lead. Recently, a song featuring Mouni Roy was also shot, and now that the graphic work is also nearing completion, the fans are super thrilled with the back-to-back updates.

On the other hand, Chiranjeevi’s new film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is set to hit the screens on January 12, 2026, as a Sankranti special. Once this film is done, Vishwabhara will hit the screens in summer 2026, and the date will be made official soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
