Vishwambhara's OTT deal is yet to be locked and that is the reason that the decision on the release date has been stuck for the longest time. Now, a popular OTT has bagged the rights.

Vishwambhara is one of Chiranjeevi's most-awaited films and has been in the making for over a year now. The fantasy drama was initially set to release during Sankranthi 2025 but was postponed to give preference to Ram Charan's Game Changer.
As we previously reported on OTTplay, the makers were aiming for a May 9, 2025, release. However, a slight change has occurred, and the release date is yet to be finalized. This delay is primarily due to the fact that the OTT platform for the film is still not locked. The producers have quoted a high price, and Prime Video and Netflix have shown limited interest in acquiring the rights.

Now, we have learned that Zee5 is likely to bag the digital rights for the film. UV Creations, the production house, has initiated talks with Zee5, and discussions are in the final stages. Once the pricing is agreed upon, the deal will be finalized. The makers are expecting a substantial amount from the OTT deal, which is why they have held back the release date.
Meanwhile, Zee5 has been actively acquiring Telugu films, including the OTT rights for Venkatesh’s blockbuster Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, which is expected to stream in the second week of February 2025.
On the other hand, post-production for Vishwambhara is in full swing, with VFX work being handled across multiple countries. The initial teaser received mixed reactions, prompting the team to refine it further. Notably, director Nag Ashwin has stepped in with suggestions, connecting them with the VFX team behind his hit film Kalki 2898 AD.
With things slowly getting back on track, it remains to be seen when the makers will lock the final release date. Given Zee5’s involvement, the platform will likely play a role in determining the film’s release window. Will Vishwambhara hit screens this summer? Stay tuned for more updates.
