Waluscha De Sousa to appeare on Indian adaptation of Revenge

As the actress Waluscha De Sousa is all set to appear in a new web series Revenge, an Indian adaptation of the popular American web series of the same name, she expresses her excitement about working with a female film director for the first time.

The show is to be backed by Taher Shabbir and Ashutosh Shah under the banner Rat Films. The series will be directed by the Guilty famed director Ruchi Narain.

Talking about her experience of working with Ruchi, Waluscha said, "This is the first time that I am being directed by a female director, and it's a great empowering feeling. Ruchi is such a lovely person to work with. Needless to say, a super director whose outing with Guilty was applauded by all."

Taking reference to how the director extracted a 'solid performance' from the Bollywood actress Kiara Advani in the film 'Guilty' she said that she has immense faith in Ruchi to bring out the best performance from her too.

"I am hoping that she pushes the envelope with me too," said the actress.

The original show Revenge was released first in 2011 and the actress recalled how she not only binge-watched every episode of the show but also was a big fan of the show. She said that when she was approached to be a part of the remake, she was supremely excited. She said that she knows the original story 'like it was yesterday.'

"I hope that the Indian audience loves this adaptation too since it has a fantastic gripping plot," said the actress.

When asked about sharing more details about her character in the show she refused to give away any details but mentioned, "All I can say is that I am yet again set to play a role that is very different than my other shows. As an actor, it is so fulfilling to be able to portray so many different characters and not be confined to stereotypes."

The actress started her career as a model and made her Bollywood debut with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer film Fan followed by a few web series such as - Crackdown, Escaypelive, Tanaav and the Indian adaption of Fauda.

The upcoming series, that is also featuring Varun Sood, will be released on Disney+Hotstar.
