'What a crossover': Janhvi Kapoor and Jr. NTR gush over Ed Sheeran and Shilpa Rao's Chuttamalle from Bengaluru concert

Chuttamalle, a song from Janhvi Kapoor and Jr. NTR's film Devara: Part 1 has garnered a lot of love from fans. The song is voiced by Shilpa Rao, one of the most versatile singers. On February 9, Ed Sheeran, who is in India for his tour, surprised Bengaluru fans by singing Chuttamalle with Shilpa on stage during the live concert. A while ago, Janhvi and Jr. NTR shared the video and praised the crossover.

Janhvi Kapoor took to her Instagram Story and shared a video of Ed Sheeran sharing the stage with Shilpa Rao and singing Chuttamalle from her movie, Devara: Part 1. Sharing the video, the actress wrote, "What a crossover to wake up to (red heart)."

On the other hand, Jr. NTR also shared the video on his Instagram story and wrote, "Music has no boundaries and you proved it again Ed! Hearing you sing Chuttamalle in Telugu is truly special."

Ed Sheeran shares stage with Shilpa Rao

Ed took to Instagram to share the process of learning and practicing Telugu vocals before going on stage. In the video, Ed was seen introducing Shilpa on stage.

“Please make some noise for Shilpa Rao!” he said to loud cheers from the audience. The two of them were then seen singing Chuttamalle together, with Ed perfectly tuning in the Telugu vocals along with playing the guitar. “Obsessed with @shilparao’s voice for the last while, a real privilege to share the stage tonight, and learn a new language!” he said.

Meanwhile, Devara: Part 1 is a 2024 Telugu-language action film about a coastal village chieftain who fights against arms smuggling.

The film stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. (Jr NTR) in a dual role as Devara and Vara. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Shine Tom Chacko. The movie is currently streaming on Netflix.
