What do couples do on their first night? Rachita responds to Love You Rachchu song 'intimacy' issue

The actress had, in the past, said that she would refrain from doing 'bold' scenes, but maintains that if she's done it again, there's a reason to it.

When the song Muddu Neenu from the upcoming Kannada film Love You Rachchu was released yesterday, the video brought up a lot of discussion. The song had visuals of the lead pair, Ajai Rao and Rachita Ram, sharing intimate moments, which, as per the progression of their relationship, from first meeting to marriage and thereafter, is only natural. But the questions directed at Rachita at the song launch press meet were more about her earlier statement to refrain from doing bold scenes. The actress not only took it in her stride, but also countered it with why she thought there was nothing inappropriate about the visuals in Muddu Neenu.

“Yes, I had said I will not do bold scenes, but if I have done it again, that should tell you that there is some meaning to it, as far as the narrative goes. For instance, what do people do after they get married, specifically on their first night together? Most of you present here are married. I am sorry to say this and this is not an attempt to embarrass anyone. But there’s romance, right? That’s all we’ve done in this song as well. We have not done it explicitly; it’s very basic. That’s all there is to it,” she said. When prodded further, she added, “See, if I have done something that I had previously said I wouldn’t anymore, there’s a reason to it, which audiences will understand when they see the film.”

Love You Rachchu is the directorial debut of Shankar Raj, based on a story by filmmaker Shashank and produced by Guru Deshpande. The film, an intense love story, pairs Rachita with Ajai Rao and has music by Kadri Manikanth. The song in question, Muddu Neenu, is a duet by Sid Sriram and Supriyaa Ram.
