Ranveer Singh's espionage thriller already created a storm at the domestic box office, surpassing Rs. 700 crore in 26 days. The film is now aiming to become number one at the North American box office.

Dhurandhar's performance at US box office

As per the last update, Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar has collected $16.74 million at the North American box office (24 days). The film is all set to surpass Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan ($17.49 million).

Meanwhile, Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone's Kalki 1898 AD now stands at $18.57 million, while Prabhas' Baahubali 2: The Conclusion's total earnings are $22 million. Within a day or two, Dhurandhar will undoubtedly surpass all these records to become the number one film at the US box office.

Dhurandhar is set against the backdrop of India-Pakistan tensions in the late 1990s and early 2000s, drawing inspiration from true events like the 1999 IC-814 Kandahar hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, and the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

The story begins with the Indian government being forced to release three terrorists in exchange for the passengers of a hijacked plane, an event that deeply affects Indian intelligence officer Ajay Sanyal (R. Madhavan).

Years later, with new political leadership, Sanyal gets the green light for a daring covert operation: Operation Dhurandhar, aimed at eliminating terrorism from within Pakistan.

This story follows Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Ranveer Singh), a convicted prisoner assigned to this high-profile mission. Rangi, adopting the identity of Hamza Ali Mazari, lands at the dangerous, gang-controlled Lyari town in Karachi, Pakistan. The plot is woven through his deep-cover missions, establishing contacts with rival gangs, the Pakistani intelligence agency (ISI) and local politics, while simultaneously sending intelligence to India.The first part focuses on Hamza establishing his hideout and building trust in a volatile environment, and the promising second part focuses on his revenge and next steps.
