Yami Gautam, who was recently seen in Pavan Kirpalani’s Bhoot Police that released on Disney+Hotstar, has wrapped up shooting for her upcoming film Lost, helmed by National-Award-winning filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chaudhury. The film was shot in Kolkata over the past few days.

Speaking to the TOI about the film, the actor, who made her debut in Hindi cinema with Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor opened up about her soft corner for Bengal, its culture, and the people. Interestingly, she also played a Bengali girl in that film.

To begin with, she said that Lost is a special film in her career so far as it has the ‘finest script’ that came her way. She got the opportunity to shoot the film in the City of Joy with Aniruddha, whom she described as a ‘fantastic director.’ “These last two factors are so very important because they have driven me to thrive," she explained to the daily.

The actress had shared a post on Instagram on August 25 after wrapping up the shoot.

While the actress found the weather in Kolkata humid, making it somewhat difficult to shoot there, she warmed up to the city rather quickly. “When I look at and feel the city of Kolkata, it is so full of life,” she said, adding that the laidback, unharried charm of the city is something you won't find in Mumbai. "The city has an old-world charm, ‘yet it is so modern, busy, urban.’ Its narrow lanes tell you old stories and its flyovers show how modern the city is," the actress said.

Yami also let in on how she savoured traditional Bengali delicacies from the Antaheen director’s home. “It's so fascinating to see the generosity of the Bengali community feeding people with a smile,” said the Bala actor, adding that she chomped into a lot of ‘mishti’ sent from ‘Tony Da’s’ (the director’s) home.
