Yash kickstarted his acting career in 2009 with a series of national television shows, including Bandini and Basera. Ever since the actor worked in multiple Hindi TV shows before stepping into the Bengali entertainment industry in 2013 with Bojhena She Bojhena. Later, the actor debuted in the Tollywood film with Birsa Dasgupta’s Gangster in 2016.

Now the actor is all geared up to debut in Bollywood films with Divya Khosla Kumar. Billed as a romantic film, it is directed by Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao. The film is said to have a connection with Divya’s directorial debut Yaariyan. Yash's fans will see him in a romantic and rough and tough avatar in the romantic drama. Produced by T-Series, the first leg of the shooting was completed in June in North India. While there has not been any confirmation from the actor on the project, sources said that the second leg of the shooting will begin soon in Mumbai. The film also features Jaaved Jaffery’s son Meezan Jafri, Lillete Dubey and others.

Yash was last seen in Shieladitya Moulik’s Cheena Badam with Ena Saha. In the film, the actor plays the character of a foreign-return techie who creates an app that brings people together. While the film has failed to impress the box office, Yash’s alleged comment, ‘that black guy', towards a street dancer created controversy. The actor also faced backlash for refusing to take part in the last leg of promotions. Yash and Nusrat Jahan’s political thriller Mastermoshai Apni Kichu Dekhenni by Shieladitya will soon hit the theatre.
