Parineeti Chopra was born on October 22, 1988, in Ambala, Haryana, to Pawan Chopra, a businessman, and mother Reena Chopra. She is the oldest of three siblings; her younger brothers are Shivang and Sahaj. She is related to actresses Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Meera and Mannara Chopra.
Parineeti moved to the United States at the age of 17 and received a triple honours degree in business, finance and economics, from Manchester Business School. While studying at the university, she worked part-time for the Manchester United Football Club, as the team leader of the catering department.
During the recession in 2009, Parineeti moved back to Mumbai and joined the marketing department of Yash Raj Films. While handling promotions of the film Band Baaja Baaraat, she discovered her passion for acting. She auditioned with the casting director of the production house and landed a three-film deal with them.
Parineeti is an established singer as well. The actress made her singing debut with the song Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin for the 2017 film Meri Pyaari Bindu. She was even nominated for the Screen Award for Best Female Playback Singer and the Mirchi Music Award for Upcoming Female Vocalist of The Year.
The actress has done her bit for charity as well. She was part of NDTV's Greenathon, an initiative to support eco-friendliness and investigate poor electricity supply in rural villages. She was also made the brand ambassador of the 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' campaign by the Haryana government in 2015.
