Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s life is highly interesting and filmmakers have found ways to bring it to life on the big screens. While Kangana Ranaut starred in a multilingual titled Thalaivii, Ramya Krishnan also portrayed her in the drama series, Queen. The makers have begun the production of its second season and now, we got our hands on photos from behind the sets, which sees the actress as Jayalalithaa.

Aggarwal also shared a second photo, posing with Ramya Krishnan in her makeover. Here we can see Ramya taking a selfie with her co-star, who portrays a young Ranganayaki aka Shakthi Sheshadri's mother in the show.

The first season of the show started streaming on MX Player. It is available in Tamil and English from 14 December 2019. The first season of the show has 11 episodes in total.

Indrajith Sukumaran, Vamsi Krishna, Sonia Agarwal, Lillete Dubey, Anjana Jayaprakash, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Vivek Rajgopal, Anikha Surendran and Munna Simon are among the other actors who appeared on the show’s first season.

Behind Queen

The biographical drama series is an adaptation of Anita Sivakumaran's novel of the same name. The novel is loosely based on the life of the politician, who was one of the most celebrated leaders of the state. The makers however, have said that the show is not based on the leader’s life.

The directors

Gautham Vasudev Menon, who was always looking forward to making a biopic about the minister, co-directed the first season with Prasath Murugesan.
