Outer Banks

Netflix has greenlit the coming-of-age mystery series for a third season. Outer Banks, which is based on the eponymous islands off the North Caroline coast in the Bahamas, saw its second season premiere on July 30 this year. Showrunners Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke are set to return for the new instalment.

Will Ferrell

Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar director Josh Greenbaum is set to helm a new comedy with Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx and Will Forte. Titled Strays, the live-action and CGI blend of adult comedy will follow the life of an abandoned dog who sets out to take revenge on his despicable owner.

Vir Das

Vir Das is all set to co-write and executive produce a musical comedy show at Fox titled Country Eastern. Also co-produced by Andy Samberg, the single-camera series revolves around a rich, young man who relocates to the USA from India and decides to become a country singer. The only clincher is that he isn’t too good at his new profession.

Bad Blood

Jennifer Lawrence has been roped in to lead The Big Short filmmaker Adam McKay’s upcoming feature Bad Blood. Lawrence will step into the shoes of Elizabeth Holmes, founder of blood-testing company Theranos for the film, which will follow Holmes’ meteoric rise and fall of the once “world's youngest self-made female billionaire" after her being accused of being a fraud. The movie will be bankrolled by Apple Original Films.

Henry Golding

Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding is set to make his TV debut with Dean Koontz’s new show Nameless. Golding is also executive producing the series, which centers around a man called Nameless, who suffers from amnesia and has no recollection of anything apart from a covert mission he’s assigned for by a dubious organization. No release date has been finalized yet.

The Last of Us/ Nick Offerman

The highly anticipated HBO original , based on the critically acclaimed The Last of Us video game series, has cast Nick Offerman from Parks and Recreation as Bill. Offerman will join Pedro Pascal as Joel, and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Ramsey is popular for her role as Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones. The video game series by Naughty Dog, set in post-apocalyptic zombie wasteland, holds the record for most Game of the year awards.

Chris O’Dowd

British actor, Chris O’Dowd, famous for his lead role in the IT Crowd, is set to star in Apple TV+’s new comedy series, Big Door Prize. The series will be helmed by Schitt’s Creek alum David West. It is based on a novel written by MO Walsh and revolves around an uneventful small town that witnesses radical change when a machine that shows an individual their true potential appears out of the blue.
