Although Steve Carell is known for his various comedic performances, he has also made a name for himself by taking up dramatic roles. He was a cast member in the short-lived The Dana Carvey Show and went on to appear in several acclaimed comedies such as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Both movies also featured Paul Rudd in major roles, and Carell’s screen chemistry with him, as well as his comedic timing, was noted by critics. He starred as Michael Scott for seven seasons of the mockumentary show The Office - a role that earned him widespread acclaim.
Carell’s dramatic roles in the movies Little Miss Sunshine and Foxcatcher showcased his acting skills, with the latter winning him an Academy Award nomination. A notable collaborator of Adam McKay, he has also starred in the movies The Big Short and Vice. In 2023, he played a major role in the Wes Anderson directorial, Asteroid City.
