Jeethu Joseph's courtroom drama Neru featuring Mohanlal releases on 22nd January

Malayalam actor Mohanlal, who is often called Lalettan by his fans, has acted in over 400 films in a career spanning over four decades. He made his movie debut in 1980 as an antagonist in the romantic thriller Manjil Virinja Pookkal. Since then, he has gone on to star in a wide variety of films, including comedies, dramas, and thrillers.
During his early career itself he has proved his worth with movies like Kireedam, which tells the story of a father-son relationship, earning Mohanlal his first National Film Award. Movies such as Vanaprastham Thanmathra, and Iruvar showcased his ability to slip into the roles of diverse characters, leaving an indelible mark on both critics and audiences.
He has won numerous awards for his acting, including four National Film Awards and five Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actor. He was also awarded the Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian honour. Mohanlal's legacy extends far beyond Malayalam cinema as he is considered one of the greatest Indian actors of all time.
