Although he made his film debut in 2011 and appeared in a couple of other movies including Nag Ashwin’s Yevade Subramanyam (2015), Vijay Deverakonda got his big break in 2016 when he appeared in the lead role in the romantic film Pelli Choopulu which was commercially successful with many praising his performance. The following year saw the release of Arjun Reddy with Deverakonda playing the titular brash character. The movie was a huge success at the box office and was also remade into other languages. Suffice it to say that Devarakonda had begun his rise in the Telugu film industry after making his debut six years earlier.
Notable for starring in romantic dramas, he has also appeared in the movies Mahanati Dear Comrade and World Famous Lover. He has also starred in Kushi, opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu, which releases on September 1st 2023.
