Dating reality television has, in the recent past, raked up considerable popularity in terms of viewership. What started with Netflix’s much-debated-upon Love is Blind released a deluge of similar online content with shows like The Circle and Too Hot to Handle.

The YA (young adult) pull of these shows ensured that the social media handles were buzzing with millions logging in to discuss whether the shows were indeed authentic and whether such content could be promoted as progressive.

But try as they might, these shows only grew in popularity with the desi sanskari versions like Indian Matchmaking and The Big Day coming up.
