Challe Mundian review: Ammy Virk's film is colourful but not when it comes to the story

Challe Mundian is the typical story - of a Canadian boy in love with his Punjaaban but the situations around them have changed

Story:

Pamma (Ammy Virk) returns from Canada. He is in love with Jassi (Mandy Takhar). However, because of situations, the two might end up getting married to someone else. Or will they?

Review:

Challe Mundian (Loosely translated as exchange of rings), commences with a song, which sets the mood for what is coming. Ammy Virk is introduced as Pamma soon after and the comedy begins. However, later, it comes only in bits.

Ammy is back as his serious self even this time. As Pamma, he rarely smiles and is heartbroken after separating from Jassi (Mandy Takhar).

The problem with this film is that before you can blink, there's a song. It doesn't even take the story ahead per se.

That is just the first thing wrong with this one. The story tends to go in circles for the longest time and songs take up the rest of the time.

Challe Mundian has the essence of Punjab intact. It is colourful and that is also putting it subtly.

BN Sharma is the best thing to happen to the film. His craziness brings light to the otherwise monotonous film.

Ammy and Mandy's end credit song justifies the theme of the movie. The two appear in a typical film and song by the end of it.

Verdict:

Challe Mundian does not offer you anything new in terms of the story. Ammy Virk and Mandy Takhar as actors also only do a fair job. Watch this one only for BN Sharma who tickles your funny bone from time-to-time.
